I am going to put a series of ads in one of the major motorcycle magazines. The purpose of the ads are to generate interest in the VRCC.

So imagine a blank sheet of paper and give us your best ideas. Size of the ads will probably be a full page, so use your imagination with suggestions for photos in the ad. $200 will be paid to the writer of any copy that we use. Post them here but make sure you identify yourself.

Here is an example of one I just dreamed up, and I know that this group can do much better.

Q: What happens after you fall in love with your Honda Valkyrie?

A: You join the Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club. Home of the greatest motorcycle ever built!

Check us out at: www.valkyrieriders.com
and join the fun.

(Ad to include photos of some good looking Valkyries and the club logo)

If you would like to give it a shot on our message board CLICK HERE
Your message will NOT show up on this page till I move it over here. It will be on our message board for all to see. Thanks for your help.

Here are all the great responses.

How's this for a start?

It's 2:00am, 40 degrees out and threating to rain. Not one of these would stop you from riding your lady, but all three? So now what do you do? Check out VCRR, someone like you will be there.

Some people ride a bike because they want to be part of club or scene.

Others form a club because of the bike they ride.

The Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club.

You won't find riders who are more passionate about their rides then here.

Come and see why.

Hal, this club is nearly 10,000 strong and you should be able to get a lot of Valks together and their riders for a great picture. Maybe In-Zane. Anyway, you want to get the point across quickly and a sea of Valkyries will do that. Then simply state something like: "We dare you to ride a Valkyrie. Interested?, check it out at www.valkyrieriders.com, home of the VRCC; Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club".

Well, I really liked the take on the Borg cube someone posted not too long ago, but there's probably enough copyright problems involved to delay the ad until next year. Not to mention the expense.

There's no doubt in my mind that part of HD's success revolves around the feeling of kinship and exclusivity you buy into with the purchase of a new, American icon, V-twin. So, I propose appealing to that desire to become part of something bigger. I suggest a background photo of a large number of VRCC members (all sexes and races represented of course, B&W would probably have more impact) standing behind some custom Valkyries in the foreground, with a large print caption reading, "Who says metric cruisers ain't got family?" Near the bottom of the page in smaller type, "Join the brothers and sisters of the VRCC today! 10,000 members and accelerating." Followed by appropriate contact information and mention of the largest collection of Valkyrie accessories and Valkyrie riders anywhere.

Did I win???

OK, You've just bought a Honda Valkyrie, named the cruiser of the decade by major motorcycle magazines. You don't know when you first fell in love. Was it that tv commercial with the power slides, that test ride you took at the rally or that full page in your face ad showing that highly customized Valkyrie.
Either way, you've got it bad. When its too cold to ride, you find your self sneaking down to the garage to just sit on the bike and dream. Now you're looking for new destinations, you're thinking about getting those pipes you saw on a buddy's bike and you're wondering how many others feel this way. Well, you're not alone. At the Valkyrie Rider's Cruiser Club, there's literally thousands of us that know how you feel. Whether it great deals on accessories, ride information, Valkyrie articles, or message boards that are like having 24-hour tech support backed by more Valkyrie expertise than exists anywhere else on the planet, you'll find it at the VRCC. Come visit us at www.valkyrieriders.com and take a free look and if you want to join, well thats free too. And if you want to see the biggest collection of Valkyries ever assembled, come to Zanesville, Ohio July 26-29 for the 2001 Valkyrie Ride-In.

Like most of us you have Been there - Done That! The Beast, the Dragon, the Cruiser of the Decade, names only those who have graced her saddle can truly appreciate. You tried to satisfy that inner desire, that craving for more but there was nothing to fill your emptiness.

Then one day you saw her. You knew she was looking at you all the time. You caressed her leather and were drawn by her smooth lines. You glared into her depths and were smitten by her majesty and beauty. You wanted her and you knew she wanted you.

Given the keys you mount the beast not knowing what power lies beneath her saddle. At the mere touch of elegance she comes to life and a journey only a few have come to know is about to birth.

Only those who have touched upon her graceful manners and dared to bridle her awesome power could ever truly know - No Cloning Needed!

There are some who dream they are part of a culture, part of the in, the nostalgic, the cool, but you were there and found a nomad, a sojourner, a wonderer, and that nomad was you.

Come friend and join us. We are nomads to. We drive the Dragon because we too have been smitten and breathed in her awesome power to be one like no other where no cloning need bother!

The Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club. You will find dreamers, inventors, engineers, and creators, and you will surely find whatever you need for your Dragon. Come and lurk but be forewarned you will taste of the good wine and never return.

The VRCC - you are welcome not matter what you ride. Our Dragon is our chosen but our brotherhood is our pride!

Are you an old over the hill type of person that has been there, done that, and has a driving need to recapture some of the youthful excitement that was lost over the years, or are you one of the Boomers that are spinning your wheels looking for "Quality of Life", plus the opportunity for a little excitement, or are you a young whippersnapper, maybe a squiddder, just looking for a little respect and the room to grow, and be what a person just has to be, plus the excitement of it all?
There is one answer that fits all no matter, age, race, creed, nationality, geographical location, sex, education, rich, poor, or inbetween. A Brother and sisterhood that transends all other constraints that get in the way of pure joy and excitement. The VRCC. Join now, feel the power, oh yes did I mention its free.

Here's a couple. The picture features Spoom sittin' on his Valk, lookin' cool, tough, but a little lonely. The text says, "So you own the best cruiser on the planet. What's next? How about the best motorcycle club? Check out the Valkyrie Riders' Cruiser Club, 10,000 strong and growing daily. Make some of the best friends you'll ever have; learn more about your bike than you thought you'd ever know; and take advantage of some great prices on more Valk accessories than you thought you'd ever want (well, maybe)." At this point, a picture of Hal in a plaid polyester sport coat with a cigar might be included. This part is optional:-).

For a little nastier approach, try this. The picture is a young-ish (mid-thirties) couple on an Interstate. The text reads, "So you got your Valk 'cause you were tired of running into your parents at HOG rallies? Now what? Check out the Valkyrie Riders' Cruiser Club. With over 10,000 members, it's THE most exciting motorcycle club on the planet. Rallies, ride-ins, and custom tips--find out what real people mean when they talk about "Big Bikes". Membership is free, and club prices on Valk accessories and clothing are the next best thing."

This is my idea for a full page (8x10ish) ad. I like it simple. The ONLY other thing I MIGHT add would be a tire track diagonally along/through the upper left "third" intersection.

Does it pique your curiosity?

Does it make you want to go there and see "wassup?"

Important message for all Valkyrie owners with Valkyrie Standard, Tourer or Interstate models manufactured between 1997 and 2001.

Your Honda dealer may not of fully informed you of all costs and benefits of Valkyrie ownership.

As a proud Valkyrie owner you are probably content to be riding the motorcycle awarded the title "Cruiser of the Decade".

But there is more involved in Valkyrie ownership than simply riding the most powerful, best handling, most reliable and smoothest cruiser ever built.

There is a community of Valkyrie owners who share every experience and lesson learned about the Valkyrie with one another. Imagine being able to access the collective experience of nearly 10,000 other Valkyrie owners from around the world. Oil: Synthetic vs. natural? Tires: Which last the longest or corner the best? Replacement suspension parts: What is the price for how much improvement? Have you considered lowering your ride? Where is the best price on chrome and performance accessories? What are your after-market exhaust options? How do you wring even more torque out of the flat-six? How do you know your mechanic is telling the entire truth? Where can you join other Valkyrie owners to ride and mingle, see and be seen?

Answers to all of the above and much more are available to members of the Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club. The cost to gain access to this wealth of knowledge? Nothing. Nada. Not a thing. It's free.

Why would so many people be willing to share their mistakes, their triumphs, their hard won knowledge, their best ride stories, their worst ride stories, their deep satisfaction, with you? Because you ride a Valkyrie. It's that simple.

Check them out. Visit them at http://www.valkyrieriders.com/. Poke around the website, learn something about your Valkyrie, visit the secure e-commerce online store with the largest selection and best prices anywhere for all models of Valkyries. Join the world-wide brotherhood of the Valkyrie motorcycle.
