This year we have once again acquired the Bald Rock Lodge (with commercial kitchen). More lodging rooms, large indoor banquet room, and more options! If you plan to attend please register using the online form (don't forget to register your co-rider SEPERATELY also!). To celebrate our 10th year, and make this year SPECIAL….we are doing a couple of NEW things! Friday night it looks like for the first time in many years, I'm going to have a live band perform at the Friday evening festivities. This band plays a mixture of old and new Rock….songs/groups like AC/DC, Rod Stewart, Led Zepplin, Mustang Sally, Aerosmith, etc. The band members are friends of mine, and probably one of the better bands in the state of Alabama. If you like rock and roll, you WILL enjoy the band. If you like dancing, this band will rock you. Of course, you can still go out on the porch and hang out if the music isn't for you. But I promise this band will be special! All the other "normal" activities (prizes, desserts, adult beverages, etc.) will be occurring too. Saturday, for something new the evening will feature a Hawaiian "theme". Everyone is encouraged to dress in Hawaiian attire (think Hawaiian shirts, who knows…maybe a grass or hula skirt for the ladies?) We'll feature Motomama's fine cooking, but it will be a Hawaiian theme menu! We'll also feature some additional contests with a Hawaiian theme (think limbo contest, Hula skirt dancing competition, etc.). Of course, we'll also have all the other normal activities…DJ, karaoke, Lady's Tattoo, Karaoke contest, prizes, 50/50, etc. Registration: Registration will cost $15 (per person) this year to cover event/food costs. We have held the price to the SAME price as last year and feel like once again, you'll get a lot for your money! Send check, money order, cash (NO credit cards) for $15 for EACH person attending to: Alabama VRCC 180 Grass Farm Rd Titus, AL 36080 Remember to call soon to get your reservations, and if there are no rooms available get on the waiting list. For more information contact Redvalk via email. The backup hotel, the Oxford Holiday Inn Express, is 20 miles away down the mountain. There's also plenty of camping up top. Folks are encouraged to share rooms, or get a cabin or chalet and get a group of folks to stay together. SOME rooms on a LIMITED basis will be available at "Ground Zero" (the Private Lodge). These rooms are managed by me and have some special conditions. Folks who stayed at the Ground Zero rooms last year get first shot at them this year. Then we fill the FEW other rooms in the Lodge on a first come, first served basis. Stay tuned for details to be posted on the board! Shirts: Shirts will be ordered directly through me again this year. I'll need to know your size(s), number of shirts, and desired color (if more than one is available), as well as type of shirt (long sleeve, ladies, etc.) if we offer those choices. More details on color choices and artwork/design and prices will be posted at a later date. Clearly indicate on your order your full name and any nickname you go by. We'll try to have Long Sleeve as well as Lady's shirts this year (stay tuned for details in a post on the board in the near future). Shirts will be brought up top and hand delivered, and absolutely NO shipping of shirts will be done. SEE CUTOFF DATE BELOW! Send check, money order, cash (NO credit cards) for shirts to: Alabama VRCC 180 Grass Farm Rd Titus, AL 36080 Group Ride Info: The group ride will be a large loop covering some of my favorite roads that we've done over the years in past Cheaha events (but never all of them combined in one ride). The lunch stop will be at beautiful Lake Martin (Sinclairs on the water, we went there some years back). We'll have a private room to ourselves, with a fantastic view of the lake (we'll be surrounded by the lake). The menu will be "locked down" to a limited number of choices, so we can expedite getting a large group fed and back on the road. After lunch and a short stretch of ride, we'll be stopping at Horseshoe Bend National Park. After that, the ride will continue on back up to the top of the mountain. There is no charge for entrance to the National Park. Cutoff Dates: 1 APRIL 2010 - CUTOFF FOR REGISTRATION FEES 10 APRIL 2010 - SHIRT CUTOFF (We'll bring the shirts to you up top. Again, as in the past….if you can't be there, need to make arrangements to have someone pick up your shirt.)
