Blocking will be minimal and only where it is safe to do so. If we get separated the lead group will pull over where it is safe and wait.
My able assistants will be well versed on the route and will help to keep the group together. Someone will be riding the tail position and will ensure that no one gets left behind.
I need a headcount for the restaurant by Friday 7:00 A.M. July 18th. Email at ronbou@aol.com, post on the board or call 860-573-3298.
The entire ride will be within the CT boundaries. Helmets are optional.
I plan on a group photo at the Barkhamsted Reservoir turn off as usual. This is only about 40 minutes/25 miles into the ride. The next break in riding will be when we stop for gas approximately 55 miles (1 hour 45 minutes) later. The gas station has a mini mart for refreshments and a rest room. After we eat Route 6 is close by and there is another gas station there, if you need to top off before heading for home. Route 6 is 10-15 minutes from the restaurant. Route 8 is close by and leads to Interstate 84.
Most of the roads we will be traveling are slow winding roads, many of which will require single file to truly enjoy the scenery. I am looking forward to this ride as I hope you will be. My email and cell phone number are included on this page. Feel free to ask questions or make comments....
The ride will be 94 miles from my place to the restaurant. Again, we will be doing a slow ride around Lake Waramaug and cruising many scenic roads.
We will have the grill going to make breakfast
sandwiches for the early birds. To insure a 10:30A.M. blast off the grill
will shut down at 10:00 A.M. Arrive
early and enjoy this treat.
