Friday 15th
- On Friday August 15th
we will be leaving from the T/A Travel Center in Bridgeport I-75 exit 144 at
10:00am we will travel up I-75 to Bay City exit 162 M-13…there is road
construction along I-75 between Birch Run and Bridgeport also along I-75 at
the Zilwaukee Bridge
- We will travel up M-13 to E. Cody
Estey Rd. to N. Shore Rd (State Rd.) to M-23…M-23 to Au Gres stop at North
Shore Party Store Gas Station just out of town
- Back on M-23 to Oscoda and Mama’s
Kitchen for lunch …
- M-23 to Alpena Stop for gas at BP
Station just north of town…
- M-23 to Mackinaw City with a stop
at scenic turn off along the way…
- $3:00 toll for Big Mack Bridge
then into St. Ignace and hotel
- We will be going to the Village
Inn for dinner they have a nice large room in the back that will seat all of
us…good food!
Saturday August 16th
- On Saturday morning the Midnight
Riders from Grand Rapids will start coming into town at 8:00am …we will
welcome them to town out by the road before having breakfast.
- At 10:00am with full gas tanks we
will be leaving the Thunderbird Motor Inn and heading on a beautiful ride
that will include 3 Great Lakes (Huron, Michigan, Superior) nice sweeping
curves on two lane tree lined roads to a lighthouse that was built first
built in 1855 and rebuilt in 1902…from there we will ride into Sault Ste
Marie est. in 1641 and home to the largest set of fresh water locks in the
world…many good restaurants and stores for shopping in the Soo…stay and
enjoy the town at your own leisure take in the sights and feel free to
explore the area…when you are ready to return back to St. Ignace its just a
short 50 miles ride down I-75.
- At 6:30 we will be having a
parking lot pizza party all are welcome but please buy 50/50 tickets this is
how we pay for the pizza…
- At 8:20 who ever wishes to ride in
the parade of lights being put on by the Grand Rapids GWRRA are welcome and
encouraged to ride up to the Casino and ride in an escorted parade through
town …many of us will be riding in this…those that aren’t riding will be
encouraged to support us (and we are well known for our support) also be
sure to wear a hat for this event…
Sunday August 17th
- On Sunday morning we will be
riding to our homes…I normally do not organize a formal ride home and a lot
of folks will pair up for their journeys home …I will most likely ride over
to Mackinaw City for breakfast at the Pancake House before riding home down
M-33.

These hotels are within walking distance of the
Thunderbird…there are plenty of national chain hotels in St. Ignace …but with
the Mid-night riders in town some of the smaller hotels may be full…
