Friday, August 13^th we will kick-off our 9^th Annual MN VRCC Chapter Ride in Preston, MN.  "Ground Zero” = Trailhead Inn. 

 

We will meet for breakfast at Liberty’s in Red Wing on Friday at 8:30 a.m.  We will leave from Red Wing at 10:00 a.m. with anyone that wants to meet and take a scenic ride from Red Wing to Preston as a group. We will only stop for one break and arrive in Preston at about 12:00 p.m. We are working on a confirmation with both locations for early check-in or location to leave bags prior to our after ride.

Our afternoon ride will leave at 1:00 or 1:30 p.m. - additional ride details for the day will be posted soon.

Saturday, August 14^th we will start the day following breakfast. A continental breakfast is offered to guests of the Country Trails Inn.

We are in the planning stages of the area rides that will include the local area, including Lanesboro.  Saturday evening we will gather for a group dinner of local cuisine - details to follow.

Sunday, August 15^th a group ride will begin after breakfast and take us on the Great River Road on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River.

Trailhead Inn, Preston - A block of rooms has been held. It will be important to reserve your room soon; rooms not reserved will be offered to the public.  It’s not too late – call now.Ask for the "MN Valkyrie Club" block when reserving your room. The block consists of 10-rooms (single $84.95 per night plus tax and double queens at $94.95 plus tax). The Trailhead Inn has this location by the park and the Root River Bike Trail and they also have a second location near this location that is a renovated school that has 1 and 2 bedrooms suites available at $115 and $125 per night plus tax.

The block consists of 8-NS queen bed rooms and 4 NS double queen rooms - the rates are $103 per night including tax. Amenities: continental breakfast, Indoor heated pool, sauna, whirlpool and more. Other rooms may be available on a first come, first serve basis that are not in our block, such as King and Queen Whirlpool and Luxury Suites- call for availability.

Hotel and/or Bed & Breakfast accommodations are hard to find in the area in the peak season.
