La Seu D'Urgell to Montserrat to Barcelona

Rob and Daryl and Michael and Petra head to Montserrat on the way to Barcelona. Franz and Herbert prefer to do twisties. Montserrat is a monastery built at the top of very high hills. The road to it is 10km straight up.

A little bit of culture never hurts.

No photos in the cathedral, please!

It gets tiring wearing gear all the time, but it's cold and drizzling.

We bought some cheese made by the monks and went on our way.

On Franz' and Herbert's separate adventure, Franz went so low he dragged his engine guard.

See below for their alternative to Montserrat.

Barcelona is a crowded, noisy city with thousands of scooters and motorcycles. By the time we reach the Plaza Catalunya (remember, Catalan is not the Spanish we learn in school in California), we are dying to find a hotel for 2 nights. We park the Wings with all the scooters and Petra and Daryl go to check out a hotel right across the street. They make us a great deal and now all the guys have to do is find the garage (not an easy task!) which ends up costing an arm and a leg. The Hotel is perfect and right in the center of town. Franz and Herbert finally catch up and we are all settled in for a little sightseeing.

Petra goes shopping and Rob and Daryl check out La Rambla with the other millions of people.

Dinner is at a meat lovers' restaurant that also offers its own cider, from the big barrels.

More mealtime laughs.
