Monterey - Carmel Concours & Baja Cantina Hot Rod Show

Another very cool and gray morning in Monterey. The group decided to skip the motel's "deluxe breakfast" and go to "Scratch", which Glenn said was the restaurant at another hotel.  The restaurant turned out to be called "the Crazy Horse", but the breakfast was hot and well served.  We are sure that no one is actually ready for a group of 16 who all want separate checks by couple at that or any other time of day.

Part of the group went into Carmel to see the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance cars arrive from the first half of a drive around the Peninsula.  It was very hard to find a parking spot and everyone had the same idea, so the place was packed.  But the cars were indeed "elegant" and worth seeing.  Others went sight-seeing at the wharf and Cannery Row.

We all met up at 3pm at the motel and drove to the Baja Cantina on Carmel Valley Road.

They have car shows every Thursday but this exceeded anyone's expectations for the number of people and cars.  Some were lucky enough to find parking close by and some parked on the road a ways up.  There were hot rods, hot bikes, "hot" babes and an Enzo Ferrari worth a couple of million to drool over.  Mike and Micha found a parking spot up close and then found out it was in the show, so he popped open his hood and left it for the crowds to view.   We got a table outside for an early dinner and, as can be seen in the photos, we did what we do best, ATE again.
