Ride to Oatman

Friday 1000

Meet at  River Ride Central

Ride Leaves for The Travel Lodge in Kingman at 1030 where we Rally with the Arizona
Contingent and leave in groups to experience the beautiful and wonderful original Route 66. This is the
original Route 66 that's been kind of forgotten and is as it was years ago.  It is a extremely twisty trip down
memory lane with gorgeous vistas
but it is also not a well maintain road and has many "Tar Snakes" which in the
Arizona Sun can be very slippery, so we'll proceed with caution

We go the back way to the Travel Lodge in  Kingman with F6Gal (an Arizonian) guiding us and then we go the back way to Oatman  from our rally point and then make the loop back to River Ride Central in time for the BBQ

Directions

Take Hwy 68 towards Kingman, at the junction of Hwy 68 and Hwy 93 turn right. You will pass the truck inspection checkpoint and head up the hill. When you get in to town go straight until you get to the on-ramp to I-40 heading towards Kingman. Then we get of on Andy Divine Road and head north 1/2 mile to the Travel Lodge Rally Point. We leave the Rally Point and on the I-40 heading toward California.  There will be a sign saying route 66 to Oatman (CR 10). Turn right, go about 100 yards and turn left, stay on that road to Oatman. After Oatman, continue down the road to Hwy 95 and turn right. Follow 95 back to Valkyrie Central.

Total Trip is 90 miles
